Welcome to Personal Math
Personal Math is a newsletter for professionals in their 30s and beyond, who are facing high-stakes business decisions every day (some of you for the first time). It’s the advice you’d get from a no-bullshit mentor – without the need to schedule a coffee date.
New posts are released on Wednesdays.
What we write about:
Every week, we help high performers in their 30s get ahead. As an emerging leader, you’re seeing the “leadership view” for the first time — from managing a team to presenting at the board meeting to getting 11 PM calls from the CEO. Your decisions are higher stakes than they used to be.
We help you navigate all this. We tell you how the business works, what your CEO is thinking (but won’t tell you), and how to navigate big decisions.
Think of us as the mentor you don’t have (and probably don’t have time to meet with anyway). Lots of data, lots of empathy, no bullshit.
Who we are:
Greg Shove, a six-time company CEO (currently of Section). I’m in my 60s, currently obsessed with the potential of AI to transform business and extend my own career longevity.
Taylor Malmsheimer, a first-time COO. I’m in my 30s, currently obsessed with learning everything there is to know about building valuable companies, including riding the AI wave.
Here’s us in our natural environment (talking on Zoom):
